About this webinar
Policy and procedure around Local Authority Taxation has changed dramatically in the last 6 months and trying to keep on top of central government mandates as they unfold is proving challenging. Business rates discounts, grants and entitlements in particular have faced a significant shake up.
Our national business ratepayer database, HUB which contains 99% of all English business ratepayer details, was initially designed as a tool to detect small business rates relief fraud has since evolved and been developed to address these latest challenges.
This webinar will highlight how Local Authorities are now using HUB to verify that retail discounts and various other entitlements are correctly awarded. Recent changes have also been made to business rates liable parties with new matches coming to light so that Councils can be confident that bills are being addressed to the correct party.
Drawing data regularly from Companies House, Local Authorities will also have the most up to date information with regards to dissolved companies and name changes. With Council recovery action due to get underway again, HUB helps verify a company’s status and liable party so that Authorities do not waste crucial time and resource on chasing debt that will never be paid.
Why you should attend?
This webinar provides a brief overview of the HUB solution, highlighting how it helps identify SBRR fraud and showcasing how business ratepayer details and a company’s status can be verified and cross-checked against any discounts or entitlements they are eligible for.
*** This webinar is primarily for Revenues, Recovery, Income, Collections, Finance, Fraud, Business Rates and Property staff within UK local authorities and the collections agencies who work on their behalf and Destin Solutions reserve the right to refuse registrations if necessary in order to protect commercial interests. ***
