Destin Solutions named Finalists in Credit and Collections Technology Awards

We are pleased to announce that Destin Solutions have been short listed as finalists in the 2017 Credit and Collections Technology Awards under the Data & Analytics Collections category. The submission put forward by Destin Solutions was based on their work with customers Preston and Lancaster Shared Service (PALSS).

Working in partnership with Destin Solutions, PALSS have developed and rolled out a business intelligence and data analytics solution which has enabled them to identify and tackle their 25 largest council tax and business rates debtors worth over £25 million in revenue to the Authority.

As a result of partnering with Destin Solutions, PALSS have improved collections by targeting resources in the right areas and have cleared out a number of arrears cases enabling staff to focus on current debt. They have access to meaningful and useful data at a click of the button which assists with budgeting and forecasting. They have also been able to use the technology to verify small business rates relief claims as well as tackle rates avoidance via shell companies. In addition, companies identified as non-trading, following subsequent enquiries have resulted in changes to liable parties so that debt could be collected instead of written off.

A case management system has also been developed as part of the solution for those debts referred for legal action. This system gives the appointed legal firm direct access to all the data intelligence the Council has, cutting down on administration and duplication for both parties.

Duncan Baxter, Director at Destin Solutions commented “we are thrilled to be shortlisted for this award, it is testimony to all the work and effort that has gone in to developing a product which enables our local authority clients to reap the rewards around full business rates retention when it comes into force.”
