Aldwyck Housing Association - Business Process re-engineering

Aldwyck Housing Association carried out a Business Process Re-engineering (BPR) exercise covering most aspects of their housing business. Aldwyck's objectives from this BPR exercise included:

  • Increasing efficiency to enable Aldwyck to deliver more and better services
  • Aligning business processes across the organisation and achieving greater consistency of service
  • Clarifying procedures
  • Reviewing the organisation of resources
Ruth Trown worked with Aldwyck on this engagement. Ruth has a long track record of helping housing associations improve their performance and increasing their efficiency.

“Ruth's approach to the project was, in itself, efficient and practical. Ruth ensured that the project was 'owned' by staff at all levels, who would be key to the successful delivery of the improved practices. This was achieved by creating the right atmosphere in workshop sessions for the consultant and Aldwyck staff to work intensively together to identify existing 'non-value-adding' activities.

Ruth was able to use her considerable experience of both working in the sector, and of consultancy for similar housing association clients to bring best practice advice and new ideas.

Aldwyck's project plan imposed challenging timescales on the BPR exercise, but Ruth rose to the challenge and delivered well-documented outputs to Aldwyck in a timely way."
