ENLIGHT SHELTERED - Help and Support for Sheltered Housing Staff and Wardens

Whether you’ve got resident scheme managers or a mobile team, you will know how difficult it is to maintain good communication. It’s expensive to get the team together on a very regular basis, but how else can you make sure that they all know about every development in policy and practice that affects them?

 

A version of ENLIGHT, Destin's Online Procedure Manual, is designed for just that purpose.

 

 

North Lanarkshire Council, near Glasgow, have adopted ENLIGHT SHELTERED to help there 35 resident Sheltered Housing Officers (and their relief officers) access all they need to know on a daily basis.

 

Tom Hester, Supporting People Officer for North Lanarkshire says:

 

"We saw ENLIGHT SHELTERED as being an ideal opportunity to draw together all of the strands of information our Sheltered Housing Officers need, whether it be Health and Safety advice, what to do in an emergency, how to use equipment, or contact information for GPs and pharmacies. We even include the standard forms and documents that our Sheltered Housing Officers sometimes need to complete. Some resources are not required frequently – but when they are, our Sheltered Housing Officers do not want to spend hours searching around. And when something new comes out, we want them all to know straight away!
