LHA Impact assessment

To assist Local Authorities and Housing Associations assess the impact of the changes to the Local Housing Allowance for New Claims (from April 2011) and Existing Claims (from the Anniversary Date of the claim) we have created an impact assessment tool which provides a claim by claim analysis.

 

After running the tool against Wealden District Council’s caseload Helen Steele, Customer Accounts Manager, said:

 

‘The problem LAs have is that we know people are going be affected but it's not easy to identify them. Now we have this report, we can target information effectively, giving customers enough time to consider how the changes are likely to affect them. Also, it means we have a better idea about the extent of the increased pressure on the DHP budget and we can help our Housing Services colleagues prepare for the impact on their services.’

 

Our low cost solution (a one of cost of just £150) provides you with a detailed analysis, a summary report and an Excel spreadsheet showing the extent of the changes. The detailed report is at claim level and will provide you with the detail you need to inform claimants of the changes they will be facing.

 

To run the report for you, we just require an extract claim file and we will do the rest.

We (in partnership with Settled Housing Solutions) have also developed a 'Desktop Calculator' that will provide instant results on the level of changes a claimant will face (including the impact of the changes to the 'Single Room Rate' from April 2012). This tool can be purchased for internal use or bulk versions can be purchased to distribute to local landlords/agents.
