Cardiff County Council - various solutions

Cardiff Council are one of several clients who have turned to Destin Solutions again and again for help in various departments

Systems Review of Homelessness

Cardiff Council's Housing Options team have implemented a workflow system to support their homelessness prevention, assessment and decision-making processes. They have internally adapted the system in an innovative way, to ensure the service is fully supported at every level. However, Cardiff welcomed the opportunity of a comprehensive 'healthcheck' of their configuration work from a company who knows the capability of the software intimately - Destin Solutions.

Two of Destin's Directors worked as a team on this project. Having previously worked for the company who produced the workflow software, Duncan Baxter knows exactly how it can be used to best advantage, whilst Ruth Trown knows homelessness legislation and housing options good practice inside-out. Together they examined the flow of work items, picking up on inefficiencies in the processes or small procedural issues to be corrected. The result was a comprehensive report, framed in such a way that anyone can understand what needs to be done to get the best from the system in the future.

Configuration Support

Delighted with the outcome, Cardiff Council went on to commission a second stage to the project - taking forward the recommendations for change. At the time of writing this work is in train.

Reporting Solutions

In order to provide Cardiff County Council with the information they require to monitor performance and workloads Destin Solutions have developed a comprehensive suite of management reports. All the reports are specific to Cardiff and have been built around how their service operates.

Phil Evans, Support Manager at Cardiff County Council said:

Cardiff had developed some of our own reports to measure aspects of performance, but we were well aware that these fell short of what we needed. Destin were able to take our wish list of information needed and transform that into clear informative reports. They were also able to make further suggestions as to reports on areas we would find useful to monitor. The reports produced will enable us to monitor much more closely  the performance of the section as a whole and that of teams and individuals so that performance improvement can be achieved."
