News : Destin's Advice Kiosks for Kent Children's Services

Following the very successful installation of Destin's Advice Kiosks for Ashford Borough Council, the project has been expanded to Kent County Council's Surestart locations in Ashford.

 

The kiosks, known as ENQUIRE, provide seamless advice on housing, homelessness, jobs and benefits, all presented in an intuitive touch screen format. Ashford Borough Council introduced them as part of their Housing Plus Project (a so-called 'Enhanced Housing Options Trailblazer', seeking to provide a joined up approach to tackling homelessness and worklessness).

 

For Ashford, it was a logical extension of the project to introduce the same advice to other locations frequented by those who are likely to need it most. Kent County Council agreed, and ENLIGHT will be installed at the Children's Centres during March 2010. Busy parents will be able to pick up their advice, which is maintained up-to-date by Destin Solutions, whilst at the venues. The built-in self-referral system will ensure that families who are most in need of Ashford's homeless prevention services do not miss out.
