News : Bumper year of changes for homelessness teams
There are now over 30 clients who are benefiting from the support that Destin Solutions’ comprehensive Online Procedure Manuals give them.
Now called ENLIGHT, these manuals draw together in one place all that you need to know on a day-to-day basis, and are constantly updated. Users of Destin ENLIGHT Housing Options achieved particularly good value from their updating service during 2009. There were some critical changes to the way housing options services should work during the year, and these changes were automatically and seamlessly absorbed into our hosted manuals. Some examples include:
- introduction of revised guidance for the administration of the Mortgage Rescue Scheme;
- introduction of a range of other schemes and services to support struggling home owners;
- guidance on how local authorities should respond to the new requirement for lenders to provide formal notification of possession action;
- guidance to supplement the English Homelessness Code of Guidance, concerning the assessment of intentional homelessness amongst home owners;
- additional statutory guidance for Scottish authorities on preventing homelessness;
- key case law affecting the handling of 16 and 17 year olds (G v LB Southwark).
All these changes were made together with amendments to ‘local’ information, as requested by the users themselves.
To make the ENLIGHT Manuals even easier to navigate around, we recently introduced an enhanced search function, too. The search function is now more flexible, enabling you to refine your search and limit it to certain types of topic. You can also choose to search for a complete phrase in the manual, or for all the individual words in a phrase.
