Rhondda Cynon Taf 'delighted' with new Homelessness Procedures
The Housing Advice Service at Rhondda Cynon Taf County Borough Council in South Wales were thrilled with Destin’s Electronic Manual completed for them at the beginning of February 2007. They were the first Welsh authority to have introduced Destin’s tailored procedure manual in a Housing Advice and Homelessness environment, and have since been followed by Neath Port Talbot and the City and County of Swansea.
‘I was amazed at how much invaluable information Destin managed to cram into the manual for us’ said Cheryl Emery, Housing Advice Centre Manager (pictured here with Clive Hill, Acting Homelessness Team Leader at the time of the implementation). ‘Destin’s consultant,
Ruth Trown, managed to pull together just about everything we would need to know on a daily basis. It is attractively presented and so easy to dip into. It’s going to be such a help for the team!’
Clive Hill commented at the time: ‘I wasn’t in post when Destin Solutions first demonstrated a sample of their work to us, so when I saw Rhondda’s own version, with all our own documents and procedures incorporated, I was stunned at just how comprehensive it was. Like most authorities we are always struggling to make our resources stretch, and the manual will help the team work faster and smarter. It’s good that the consultant has worked in this environment herself – it has given us the best possible outcome.’
After a year of making their own updates to the manual content, Rhondda Cynon Taf have asked Destin to begin hosting the manual for them (see Swansea's case study for details of the hosting solution)
