Walsall MBC - ENLIGHT Housing Options

Walsall MBC launched their Homelessness and Housing Advice Operational Guidance, produced by Destin Solutions Ltd., towards the end of 2006.
 
The guidance was designed to bring together in one place all the strands of information needed on a day to day basis by the Housing Advice and Homelessness Assessment Teams. Like many authorities, Walsall has embraced the government's Homeless Prevention agenda. They wanted to make available to all staff working with potentially homeless people the right information to help clients to sustain their current tenancies, and to help clients find housing solutions when it is not possible to keep them in their current homes.
 
Walsall are delighted with the outcome. Julie Jones, Service Improvement Co-ordinator, said:
 
'Until we introduced Destin's on-line procedure manual, we had not realised quite how much more efficiently we could work! Even our more experienced staff have found a real advantage in having their resources in one place, and there will be vast savings of time when inducting and training new staff. Most importantly, we can be assured that our customers are getting consistent advice and assistance from the whole team.'
