Destin Solutions have identified that across the country there are 35,000 business rates accounts where the liable party name is incorrect because the company has changed its name but the council is continuing to issue business rates bills in the previous company name.
We are now reporting these previous company names in HUB to enable users to correct their own liable party names, which will enable a smoother collection and recovery process in due course. This new report is named ‘Previous Company Names’ and can be accessed in the Company Status dropdown menu as shown below:
As you can see from the example below the report provides the current ratepayer name and property information along with details of whether SBRR is in payment and the new company name. Additionally, clicking on the Company Number field will take you straight to the Companies House page to view the company information and confirm details of the change of name.
