A joint submission was put forward by Destin Solutions and their customers Preston and Lancaster Shared Service (PALSS). The submission outlined a number of recent technology implementations within the Revenues & Benefits shared service designed to improve the process of property inspections and better manage and improve the way data is used and decisions are made within PALSS.
Working in partnership with Destin Solutions, PALSS have developed and rolled out a customised property inspection module which has automated the manual processes, enabling Property Inspectors to plan and carry out visits and complete inspections remotely using iPads.
PALSS also invested in a sophisticated management information portal enabling them to take extracts from a number of different data sources including council tax, housing benefit, business rates, sundry debts and benefit overpayments. Consolidating all this information into a single view has meant they can make more informed decisions and has significantly improved their forecasting and budgeting capabilities.
Duncan Baxter, Director at Destin Solutions commented “we are delighted to have been jointly shortlisted for this award and a key part of that is having customers willing to drive through and embrace change to improve their processes. Preston and Lancaster Shared Service are committed to achieving efficiencies and effectiveness and have worked with us closely to ensure they have innovative technology solutions which meets their needs now and will do so in the future.”
Following an onsite visit by a panel of judges scheduled to take place within the next three months, winners will be announced during an awards dinner taking place during the IRRV Annual Conference being held at Telford on October 19th 2016.
